How do I find out the polarity as it comes from my car stereo speaker ports?
The wires that come from the speaker port don't look like the ones that come from the actual stereo itself. Can I use my digital voltometer to detect which wire is positive or negative? If not that, do they make detectors that will tell which wire is positive when a solid noise (static) is coming from my radio for example? Any suggestions welcome. Thank you.
Update: Sorry, I didn't mean the speaker polarity, but the actual wire coming from the speaker port. I know the speaker polarity. Thanks though. If you know how to use a voltmeter to determine polarity on the speaker wires, please let me know. Thanks.
A voltmeter will tell you positive and negative, but speaker leads really don't matter unless there's an amp in the speaker itself.
