With a car amp, how many watts do i need to power a 12" sub in a 2002 toyota corolla?
I just bought a sony xplod 200 Watt amp and an xplod 12 inch sub. I drive a 2002 toyota corolla and i want to know if the 200 watt amp is enough to get me plenty of bass
It could be, but really depends on your definition of 'plenty of bass'. The amp and the sub will work fine together, but it won't produce too much bone-jarring bass. Your enclosure will also have an effect on the bass. A ported enclosure will generally produce more bass while a sealed enclosure will be a little tighter. I have (4) JL 10" speakers with a 725 watt MTX Pro-Thunder amp in my S-10 and sometimes I would like a little more punch.
